Patch thinks there is something bigger out there for him other than his
"spot" as one of Pongo and Perdita's 101 Dalmatian puppies. Enter Thunderbolt, a
TV star dog and Patch's hero, whose slipping ratings have him looking for some
off camera publicity for fear of being replaced by new talent. Thunderbolt takes
Patch on as his sidekick and the two set off to perform heroic acts in the real
world that will keep Thunderbolt in his starring role, and help Patch fill his
need for his own identity.
101 Dalmatians II has all the characteristic charm of a Disney animated movie,
and superbly blends classic characters (the Dalmatians and Cruella De Vil) with
the new (Thunderbolt and Lars, the spot-fascinated artist). The animation gives
the stylistic feel of the 1960's evident in the original 101 Dalmatians.
This is a great family movie, and even better when watched after the original so
the kids have a great feel for the characters, and in the animated version it
will keep their attention longer.
