In Short
These cows aren't really worth saving...

This app combines two very different types of app games: a farming game and a tower defense game, and then aliens thrown into the mixer. But the game is simpler than that. All you do is buy cows and put turrets on them to prevent them from being abducted by flying saucers. The turrets and cows come in all shapes and sizes, but the farm theme really does nothing for the game ' it could be military stuff, futuristic stuff, turtle stuff, or whatever and the game would play the same. The art style is nowhere near as endearing as the developers probably think it is, and the little fart sound the cows make upon spawning money certainly doesn't help either.

Perhaps it was their way of making the game seem different than more tower defense games in that in this game there is a great deal of luck involved. It starts in where the cows stop to graze; when they stop they will instantly drop some cash, so if they run across the screen that is time wasted. Also, where they stop will also affect how their turrets engage the aliens and how long it will take the aliens to reach them. It's frustrating when you have focused fire on one saucer and then another appears and the turrets near the second saucer leave the first one alive. Basically, the second level may prove as a test of endurance as that level could stall you for a long time until things go your way.

Questionable name, questionable art style, questionable game mechanics, and you have a game that may be worth the money on the iPhone, but it isn't much of an iPad upgrade.

Final Rating: 63%
