Green (in both sense of the word) gifts for the computer geek in your life.

If you're looking for a gift for the computer geek in your life, Motherboard
Gifts can provide you with some rather unique options that are quite likely to
please your techie loved one. Motherboard Gifts gives new life to old,
out-dated computer motherboards and circuit boards, repurposing them to a number
of other uses. Their products include photo frames, business card cases,
and checkbook covers, to name a few, and also include a set of drink coasters
like the one I received for review. If you know anything about circuit
boards, you'll know that they're covered in little metallic points and pricks
that can do a pretty good job of tearing through the skin on your fingers and
knuckles. Motherboard Gifts removes all of those, leaving a pretty smooth
surface behind in the process. I do like that some tactile feel has
remained, and that you can run your fingers over there surfaces and still feel
the various metallic circuit channels on the surface. Another thing you
may know about motherboards is that they're almost always green, but Motherboard
gifts has managed to find old circuit boards in other colors such as red,
yellow, and blue. The coaster set I received includes six coasters in all
of these colors, including a rather cool yellow one with the words "ATTACK" and
"RATIO" ominously etched on the circuit board's surface. I like to think
that I am now resting my drink on the former brains of an ICBM. The
coasters come with a metallic storage tin and are each ringed by plastic that
both protects the surface they're placed on and allow the coasters to be used
either side up. I love their look and their geek chic, and I think I'm
going to make my way to the Motherboard Gifts site at
www.moherboardgifts.com to pick up
another item or two. And that's the highest praise a review can give to a
product.
