King of Frogs is a puzzle game which is a lot like those old-style checkers
puzzles. The goal is to get the Frog King from his starting lily pad to a
destination pad. The trick is that he can't simply move from one pad to the
next. To move he has to leap over another frog sitting on an adjacent pad to an
open pad beyond, just like a jump in checkers. And once you make a jump, the
frog that you jumped over will disappear. The puzzle aspect comes into play in
that the frogs are never initially aligned to make it easy to get the king to
his destination. You'll have to move the frogs around to line up a path to get
the king across the level. And since the frogs disappear when they're jumped,
there's no margin for error. The game also has a challenge mode in which you
replay the puzzles of the main mode, except in order to clear the puzzle you
have to both get the king to his destination and eliminate all of the other
frogs on the level.
The game is pretty much just a collection of these puzzles, so your enjoyment
of it will be tied to how much you enjoy logic puzzles in the first place. Once
you make it through the puzzles you're not too likely to want to play through it
again, at least anytime soon.
