Best left to those who have see-through fingers...

A Space Shooter for Two Bucks! Is a great little game for the PSP. The bullet hell style shooter features bright and colorful graphics, a fun sense of humor, challenging bosses, power-ups, and enemies and their weapons fire all over the screen. It's nothing that hasn't been done before, but it's fun nonetheless. Now the game has come to iOS and been given a new title to reflect its new price, A Space Shooter for Free!, although this title is a bit deceptive. To unlock the entire campaign you'll have to pony up the traditional 99 cents.
On the iPhone the game plays every bit the same as its two buck cousin with one major exception ' the controls. Your ship is controlled by a single finger and moves in the direction that you swipe that finger across the screen (shooting is automatic). The controls are responsive enough, the problem is that no matter where you place or move your finger you're going to obscure a portion of the screen. You can get away with some screen obstruction in some iPhone games, but when the screen is filled with enemy ships and their projectiles it becomes a big impediment to gameplay. A Space Shooter for Free! is already a challenging game and it really doesn't need to be made more so by blocking incoming danger from view. If you have a PSP your two dollars will buy you a lot of fun, otherwise you'll want to save yourself a lot of frustration.
