Cooper and the Thievious Racoonus
In a year dominated by controversial titles touting violence and nudity, it's
good to see that a game can succeed based simply on great graphics and gameplay
to match. Sly Cooper creates a wonderfully imaginative world that sets the
benchmark for what cel-shaded games are supposed to look like. It's
a world that has the colorful and zany look that will hook kids, while filling
it with enough detail and imagination to appeal to adults as well. The
simple control scheme makes it easy to perform a wide range of moves and, unlike
many platform games, you are never fighting the controller. This leaves
you free to explore the wonderful world created for the game, and concentrate on
the many puzzles and mini games which fill this title.
