Battlefield 1942
How many first person shooters let you bombard the shoreline with a naval
canon, take off from the deck of a carrier, and then parachute to the ground and
take control of a tank? You can literally do these things one after
another in this very enjoyable multiplayer game. Sure it's not realistic,
but it is a great deal of fun. Since the other players are human
controlled, your enemies will provide for more surprises and challenging play
than AI controlled soldiers ever could.
The variety of maps in the game cover the action in every major theater of
World War II, so you can man a Sherman, Tiger, or T-34 tank and have the
opportunity to fly a Spitfire, P-51, ME-109, or Zero. There's so much to
do, that it will take you a while to try out every weapon and soldier class in
the game. Of course, you'll be so hooked by then that you'll be happy to
start all over again when you're through.

If you like mayhem, fragfests with fast action and great weapons,
then you'll find plenty to love in Unreal Tournament 2003. The maps
are very well-designed and backed by some fantastic graphics, so the game
looks as good as it plays. |
