Track Lapse is a side-scrolling running game where your character is on the right side of the screen and obstacles come at you from the left. Your goal is to make it to the end of each level before your health runs out. A simple formula that has been done many times before and often done better.
You are a shirtless dude named Tim that is running around a track while listening to some tunes on your MP3 player. Apparently Tim is very susceptible to daydreams and when a new song starts Tim imagines that he is in a different environment. He keeps on running determined to get to the end of the song and onto the next level. Crash into something and the batteries on your MP3 player run down. Crash enough and the battery drains completely and you need to start over. There are tables along the level that have batteries so you can recharge.
The Time Lapse controls are simple: tap an icon to jump (either a sort, medium, or double jump depending on if you tap, hold the button or double tap), tap another to perform an action, and tap a third to sprint. The action button will do things like kick a chicken at a cow or a brain at a zombie or moonwalk at a disco. There are 11 levels but the action never varies too much. It wants to be cute and funny and comes close to achieving that, but not completely. It's not very original and can get tiresome quickly. Nevertheless, it's not bad for a $1 and is certainly a quick game.
