If you are looking for a racing game similar to Mario Kart or Twisted Metal,
look no further. There isn't a lot to explain: you race, you can use weapons and
boosters, and you progress based on performance. There are a lot of maps, the
laps are not that long, you have a selection of vehicles, and you can play
multiplayer over wi-fi. That basically describes Mario Kart and this game at the
same time.
The presentation leaves a little to be desired, but the graphics in-game are
smooth and rich. The only possible flaw is that the camera angle is slanted and
the joystick will steer in the direction it is facing, not the direction of the
vehicle. However, this camera position gives the game a three dimensional feel
that would have been hard to replicate if you were looking in front of the
vehicle. The only real drawback is that most of the turns are unpredictable. The
racing itself is hectic when the racers are close to each other or within firing
range, and front-running isn't too difficult unless you lose your sense of
direction.
It's a simple concept that copies other, more successful console racers, and
once you get used to the controls, there is no limit to the fun you can have.
