Carlos Mencia's Mind of Mencia series has seemed to really hit its stride in
its fourth season. The strength of the show continues to be Mencia's
stand-up routines in which her mercilessly picks on the stupidity inherent in
politics, racism, and just about anywhere else in society. He also does a
great (and humorous) job of hammering home how lucky people have it in the US,
and how their complaints and problems pale in comparison to those of the Third
World. Like most sketch comedy shows, Mind of Mencia's sketches are based
on jokes that are stretched to their limit even by the short running span of the
sketches, but they still manage to generate more laughs than most. His
man-on-the-street interviews are pretty humorous, especially when he
demonstrates his quick wit in response to some of the answers he receives.
New for Season Four is "The Adventures of Carlitos", a series of animated shorts
taken from the more awkward moments of Mencia's own childhood. They're
pretty humorous and may make you be a little more forgiving towards your own
parents.
