Headlining the DLC, "Where Are They Now?" ($4.99) will add a new mission and unlock characters who may be familiar to fans of the series, as the heroes of previous installments (Dona Dona and Sayo from Way of the Samurai and Way of the Samurai 2, respectively) will enter the battlefield as playable characters with custom gear.
Furthermore, new challenges await in the "Shinsengumi" DLC pack ($4.99). Players will be tasked with completing a new mission that rewards them with one of the most famous members of the legendary Shinsengumi group.
In addition to these new missions, three rare weapons packs (each available for $2.99), a mineral pack which will allow players to construct powerful and durable weapons ($0.99) and a scrolls set that adds new attacks ($0.99) will be introduced for players to gain quick access to powerful armaments and skills. All of these DLC add-ons are available for download now on the PlayStationStore.
Set immediately after Japan opened its borders to the West in 1853, Way of the Samurai 4 drops players into a world of opportunity and uncertainty as a rōnin (masterless samurai) looking to make a name for himself, and continues the series' tradition of customization, exploration, action gameplay and quirky humor. Taking their place in the overall power struggle amongst the region's disputing factions, players will be given the choice to align themselves with one of three groups: the shogunate pro-government forces, the nationalistic isolationists, and the foreign powers who are directed by the British Navy.
