Jam Sessions is a groundbreaking music title exclusively for the Nintendo
DS system in which players actually strum a guitar via the Touch Screen to
make music. Players are not only able to learn the rhythms of guitar playing,
they also learn chord sounds and progressions through embedded songs and
improvisation. The game is a true guitar experience in the palm of your hand.
"Ubisoft is thrilled to partner with Music for All to support their
music-making and music education efforts across the United States,” shared Tony
Key, vice president of marketing, Ubisoft. "Jam Sessions is easy to pick up and
play, making it a perfect title to showcase how music should be accessible to
all and can be an integral part of both education and entertainment.”
Music for All is one of the largest and most influential national music
education organizations in support of active music-making. Music for All is
unique in that it combines programming at a national level with awareness
campaigns, research and advocacy for music education. Music for All is also one
of the nation's leading music and arts education research, public policy and
advocacy organizations, addressing the growing concern that public policies
have created barriers for many schools and communities to provide music and
arts programs as part of a basic education for all children. Music for All's
research and advocacy efforts have led the states of Arkansas and Louisiana to
mandate music and art for every public school student and was a catalyst for
the state of California's recent $600 million reinvestment in music and arts
education in the public schools.
As part of the partnership, Jam Sessions will be available at Music for All's
signature events – Bands of America Super-Regional and Grand National
Championships - for people to play and experience firsthand. Jam Sessions will
be promoted during all 20 regional championship events, which will involve more
than 100,000 music students and 300,000 attendees. Ubisoft will bring Music for
All's mission to a wider audience through their promotions, advertising and
packaging for Jam Sessions, exposing the value of music-making and music
education to millions of people.
"We are excited to work with Ubisoft and feel that Jam Sessions provides a
great point of entry for people of all ages to become interested in learning
about and creating music in a fun and comfortable way,” shared Bob Morrison,
Executive Vice President, Music For All. "Once someone experiences the joy of
music making, a whole new world of musical opportunities is opened up to them.
We are thrilled to have Ubisoft join with us in our efforts to help create a
world where there truly is music for all.”
