The programs are on-demand, but will air at a scheduled time each week on Saturdays, starting Saturday 23rd June 2007, at 6am (EST).
EVE TV’s broadcasts will be available in three different quality streams at www.jalipo.com and at eve-online.tv, using Jalipo’s simple to use pre-pay J:Credits system. The system is a pay-per-minute model so viewers only pay for what they watch. Each episode will be archived on the Jalipo system and will allow viewers to return to their favorite episodes whenever they want.
Chris Deering, former President of Sony Europe and Jalipo’s chairman, says: “To be able to deliver this type of entertainment to the gaming community is a very exciting proposition for Jalipo. EVE TV not only represents the next level in informative, gaming- related media but also demonstrates fascinating new brand extensions for the gaming industry and ways of communicating with niche audiences in a converging broadcast market.”
EVE TV gives players a platform to communicate with each other beyond web forums and podcasts. It will focus on player-led news and events as well as providing access to behind-the-scenes information on the game.
Oliver Skelding, MMM Publishing’s Managing Director, said: “We couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Jalipo to distribute EVE TV. Jalipo gives us the flexibility to deliver this service to our audience safely, without charging them extortionate subscriptions whilst allowing them the flexibility to view this content how they want it, when they want it. It is a solution that fits into our ethos. We’re by the players, about the players, for the players.”
The Jalipo player is available to all PC or Mac devices that have an Internet connection.
