From
2K Sports

At the 2008 DHL All-Star Fan Fest, beginning July 11, 2K Sports will offer fans the unique opportunity to play Major League Baseball® 2K8 and get their hands on a sneak peek at the highly anticipated title, MLB® Power Pros 2008, on more than 20 gaming kiosks in the Cyber Ballpark area in the Jacob Javits Convention Center. On July 13, also at Cyber Ballpark, 2K Sports and Chevrolet will conclude the final round of the Chevy 2008 Virtual World Series Championship featuring Major League Baseball 2K8. After thousands of players competed on Xbox LIVE®, the annual online tournament will conclude by pairing the American and National League playoff tournament winners for a thrilling championship finale. The grand prize winner will receive an exclusive, all-expense-paid trip for two to a 2008 World Series game, courtesy of Chevrolet, the “Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball.” New York Mets All-Star and Major League Baseball 2K8 cover athlete, Jose Reyes, along with legendary Hall of Fame player, Cal Ripken, Jr., are scheduled to be on hand for a special meet-and-greet with fans.

2K Sports, in partnership with GameStop, will also host a special exhibition match on July 14 between New York Mets outfielder, Endy Chavez, and the champion of their recently concluded national in-store Major League Baseball 2K8 home run derby tournament. Over the last three months, players competed at local participating GameStop stores across the country to find the greatest virtual home run hitter, and the champion has earned the exclusive opportunity to compete against a real MLB player for tickets to the MLB All-Star Game. Fans who attend the GameStop event will have the chance to get their pictures taken on a green screen, along with receiving exclusive giveaways items such as MLB All-Star bags, bobble heads, autographed memorabilia and more.
